The Nielsen Fitness Assessment

What is it?

A process has been developed over time and utilizes a combination of the best research-based assessment methods and theory available.  This approach will give you - and us - a bull’s-eye view of where your fitness level stands.  This is essential in order for us to create your roadmap for success and help you reach your goals.

What’s included?

A goal-setting consultation: You may already know what you want to achieve, and if so, that's great.  But for those who don't, and to help us delve down to the next layer, our detailed needs and lifestyle habits analysis provides us with insight into what makes you tick, and ultimately how to motivate you to set and achieve sustainable and achievable goals.

A functional test: Depending on your specific goals, we will test some or all of the following: joint range of motion, active flexibility, active strength, posture, active and passive functional stability, core strength, your biomechanical gait, endurance and power.  

Metabolic Analysis:
Includes the recording of your resting heart rate and blood pressure, before during and after exercise. We will assess your heart's stroke volume, as well as your metabolism. Following this, we will give you tips on how you can improve it.

Body type analysis and classification:  We will offer you the opportunity to have an accurate body fat analysis done using scientific skin-fold calipers. We will also take your measurements with a measuring tape and classify your body-type.

A fitness-level report and action plan:  Following your assessment, you will receive a report. It will include the results from your assessment, versus where you want to be according to the goals we have established.  Along with this comparison, we’ll make some recommendations on the action steps you will need to take to achieve your fitness goals.
